Dorie was born on Borneo Island, in Malaysia. She discovered her fashions creative talent at very young age. She started making her own school uniforms and dresses at the age of 10. Once she started a project, she would not go to bed even past mid-night. She had her fashion designing formal education in Malaysia, Singapore and further advancement in Italy, France and U.K. Before she opened her Dress-making Institute, teaching students in her homeland, she was the chief designer, master sample producer for one of the prominent fashions authorities in Kuala Lumpur, the capital of Malaysia.
In the eighties, she had designed high fashions worn by actresses in the soap opera T.V. series, and dressed newscasters on National T.V. Malaysia. Her passion for creating wedding gowns caught the clienteles’ attention when she designed a wedding gown for one of the Malaysian highest official’s granddaughter in 1989.
Dorie landed the USA in the early 90’s. Her creativity and innovative creations is recognized to pageant contestants. Some of her creations worn by the contestants and captured the crowns by many prestigious pageant titleholders. With her designing expertise since 1977, she is constantly making brides’ wedding dreams come true. Most of her bridal gowns are made from the imported luxurious silks.
