Dorie was born and raised in Malaysia. She is of Chinese origin. She discovered her interest in fashion at the early age of 10. Her first project was making her primary school uniform. Dorie graduated with a degree in Fashion and Design in Singapore. After graduating she studied gown fashion and design in Milan, Paris and London. For 10 years she operated and taught students in her own dress-making Institute in Malaysia. She was a Sample Producer in one of the top fashion authorities in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Dorie came to the United States in the early nineties and started her first bridal store in California four months later. She also studied business management and marketing. Creating wedding gowns is both her passion and gift. She loves the feel of the luxurious silk fabrics. Dorie also likes creating pageant gowns. She frequently coaches contestants in runway skills, poise and other aspects of pageantry competition. She helps pageant contestants boost their scores and she raises all her clients' self-confidence. Many of the her clients won pageants wearing Dorie's gowns. These include Miss Teen America National Queen 2003, Mrs. California/America/World Queen 2000 and many other beauty pageant titles. | ||||||||||||
